Filter sleeves

Application and use

Filter sleeves are applied to drain pipes to protect them from infiltrating sand and fine particles. By applying a filter sleeve around the pipe, flow capacity is ensured and clogging is prevented. The open structure of the sleeve makes sure water can go through whilst effectively grains of sand are kept out.

Source-filter sock

A source-filter sock, also called a well-filter sock is used around source filters. The sock prevents sand from entering the filter pipe and reduces the chance of clogging. This contributes to a stabile usage of the source and extends the lifespan of the filter system.

Drainage-filter sock

Drainage-filter socks, also known as drain socks or filter stockings are used with drainage pipes. The sleeve is pulled around the pipe and prevents it from silting up. By using the proper mesh size, the sleeve transmits water but blocks sand and other pollution.

The filter sleeve is also used in tree aeration systems. In this method, several pipes are put around the tree roots, often in urban areas with a lot of pavements. Because of the filter sleeve, air and water can circulate and the system will not be contaminated.
